Holm House is a modern house in ‘traditional Suffolk country house style’ built in 2005 by KLH Architects of Sproughton on the site of the former bungalow of the manager of Fred Barcock’s famous nursery. The then owners engaged the garden designer Janey Auchincloss of Lavenham to redesign the gardens in 2007, retaining a number of specimen trees from the Barcock era, including the clipped holm oaks on the drive that give the property its name. The current owners, who took it over in 2015, have continued to develop the property, including the addition of a 2-acre lake (by Miles Water Engineering). It now covers approximately 10 acres and has a formal garden with topiary, a parterre and mixed borders, a rose garden in a white-paved courtyard, a Mediterranean-style courtyard with a mature olive tree, a cut-flower garden with greenhouse, a large kitchen garden with impressive greenhouse, and a lake flanked by a wildflower meadow. The garden featured in the English Garden magazine in January 2022.

A home-made tea will be provided.
